We create transdisciplinary, publicly available, and widely disseminated programs, events, knowledge, and engagements for green city making.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>European Projects<\/strong>. TNOC-Europe (a registered charity in Ireland) participates in and occasionally leads projects with European consortia (PIC 907105007), including Horizon projects and others. We welcome collaborations of all sorts in Europe. Our roles in European projects is diverse, but here are some examples: <strong>arts integration<\/strong> in science, policy, and community engagement (e.g., comics, Science2Story, fiction, theatre, murals, artist residencies); \u00a0productive and inclusive <strong>participatory methods<\/strong> with professionals and communities; innovative <strong>events<\/strong>; <strong>social science methods<\/strong> in evaluation, surveys, and community building; <strong>communications,<\/strong> dissemination, publishing.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>We strive for cities worldwide that are resilient, sustainable, livable, and just.\u00a0We work to achieve this in several ways:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Publish open access, web-based articles, essays, and discussion forums by writers, thinkers, creators, and activists, focusing on ideas that are transdisciplinary and at the frontiers where science, design, planning, and art meet. We crave creativity in all forms and from all sources.<\/li>\r\n<li>Create public symposia and transdisciplinary engagements designed to increase knowledge and citizen engagement in creative cultures, urban nature, planning, design, and placemaking. Recent events include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenatureofcities.com\/tnoc-summit-outputs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TNOC Summit<\/a>\u00a0in Paris (June 2019) and the Food-Water-Energy public event in Sao Jos\u00e9 dos Campos, Brazil (September 2019), and a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/tnoc-festival.com\/wp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual Festivals<\/a>. The next in-person TNOC event with be in Europe in 2024.<\/li>\r\n<li>Design outreach, educational, and research materials for urban communities, city managers, practitioners, and researchers on the subjects of urban ecosystems, green infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and biodiversity.<\/li>\r\n<li>Create programs that engage arts, culture, science, and action together in joined spaces. <a href=\"https:\/\/nbscomics.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBS (nature-based solutions) Comics<\/a> is a project of TNOC-Europe, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/networknature.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NetworkNature<\/a>. As part of this project, we offer artist-led workshops on visual storytelling.<\/li>\r\n<li>Conduct place- and knowledge-based projects with partner organizations in Europe and on a global scale, integrating ways of knowing and modes of action.
