As an ecologist with the City of Portland\u2019s Revegetation Program since 1999, he stewards natural areas for all Portlanders where he has overseen the planting of over 4 million trees and shrubs. He founded the discussion group Portland Ecologists Unite! which created spaces to learn, discuss, and connect over current ecological issues. He is a certified Senior Ecologist from the Ecological Society of America. He has given talks and led workshops at conferences, churches, schools, and natural areas.
