{"id":1515,"name":"Duarte Santo","url":"","description":"Duarte Santo (he\/him) \u2014 MLA, MArch, PGUD\r\n\r\nI am an architect, landscape and urban designer, educator, and researcher working across landscape architecture, ecological design, public space, cultural production, and research-by-design. My work examines how landscapes are shaped by multispecies mobilities and migrations, with a focus on material flows and tourism, climate change, sensory experience, digital technologies, and more-than-human relations.\r\n \r\nMy current research and teaching focus on Translocal Ecologies, participatory AI in public space design, material and circular ecologies, island and coastal futures, and climate\/migration landscapes. Across these areas, I develop design studios, fieldwork methods, exhibitions, public-space research, and collaborative formats that connect spatial practice with environmental justice and cultural transformation.\r\n \r\nI have taught design studios, seminars, and technical courses in landscape architecture at Cornell University, with previous teaching and research experience in the UK and Europe. My professional background includes work with OMA\/Rem Koolhaas and Allies and Morrison, alongside independent curatorial and research projects through TRANSLOCAL.\r\n \r\nMy work has been connected to the Venice Architecture Biennale, public-space research in Los Angeles and Lisbon, island futures, ecological infrastructures, and AI-supported participatory design.
