She is also an affiliate faculty member of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the University of Hawai\u02bbi at M\u0101noa. Her interdisciplinary research explores the role of natural resources as cultural resources, the interactions between environmental and human health, and collaborative resource management. She has worked in Tanzania, Hawai\u02bbi, Fiji, and New York City. Heather holds a PhD in Anthropology, and a certificate in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology from the University of Hawai\u02bbi at M\u0101noa. She is also a certified arborist.
