{"id":349,"name":"Andre Ortega","url":"","description":"Andr\u00e9 Ortega is a spatial demographer and urban geographer with research interests on spatial politics of peri-urban transformations, dispossession and gentrification, transnational migration, and critical demography. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of the Philippines Population Institute. He received his PhD in Geography at the University of Washington, Seattle in 2012. He currently heads the \u201cSpaces in Transition? Mapping Manila\u2019s Peri-Urban Fringe\u201d project, a mixed-method research that accounts for multiple socio-spatial transformations in Manila\u2019s peri-urban fringe, from multiple mobility patterns of residents to histories of various built environments.
