Her research and practice focus on urban resilience and sustainability planning in the context of climate change. Building on interdisciplinary approaches in urban planning, geography, urban ecology and landscape ecology, she examines geographic disparities in access to environmental resources and vulnerability to environmental threats\u2014particularly extreme heat events. Her work has been funded by the Environmental Protection Agency STAR program and the National Science Foundation IGERT program.
