Her current work examines changing food practices in western India and the transformation of agrarian environments. \r\n\r\nAmita Baviskar\u2019s recent publications include <em>Contested Grounds: Essays on Nature, Culture and Power<\/em> (Oxford University Press); <\/em>Elite and Everyman: The Cultural Politics of the Indian Middle Classes<\/em> (with Raka Ray, Routledge); and <em>First Garden of the Republic: Nature on the President\u2019s Estate<\/em> (Publications Division, Govt of India).
