Kinga Psiuk is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Sustainability Transitions, Stellenbosch University. With a background in social psychology and social-ecological resilience, her research focuses on human-nature relations. Since 2021, she has been studying subjective perceptions of residents in baboon-visited areas of Cape Town. Her PhD explores collective navigation of the intergroup and interspecies dynamics within conservation conflicts, working towards more relational baboon governance. Through participatory approaches, Kinga’s work nurtures understanding, trust, and empathy between divided human groups while promoting connectedness and respect between humans and baboons.
