Mariona Gabarró Rovira is a Barcelona-based consultant and researcher working at the intersection of sustainability, ecological economics, and community empowerment. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Environmental, Economic, and Social Sustainability at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, specializing in Ecological Economics. Her academic and personal interests include indigenous perspectives, rural transitions, and Buen Vivir as a framework for life-centered development and post-extractive alternatives. Professionally, she works as a freelance consultant for cooperatives, social enterprises, and sustainability-focused consultancies. Her experience includes strategic planning, participatory facilitation, and the development of environmental and social impact reports. At Tandem Social and EMAS Consultors, she has contributed to collective processes for organizations such as Som Energia, Nus Cooperative, and EMAS-aligned companies. She is particularly interested in contributing to the design and implementation of sustainability policies that foster equity, territorial justice, and ecological resilience. Her perspective is grounded in the idea that sustainability must center relationships, plurality, and community self-determination, weaving together local knowledge, ecological ethics, and collective agency.
