Phoenix Carter

Phoenix Carter is an artisan and student from Oahu, Hawaii, known for crafting traditional Hawaiian bamboo instruments (pū ʻohe) and honoring his cultural heritage through woodcarving and faith. He graduated from Saint Michael School in Waialua and continued his education at Kamehameha Schools. As an exponent of hana noʻeau (skilled handiwork), he creates traditional mountain bamboo instruments that echo the historical use of the pū.
