Saurav Dhakal is a sustainability advocate, climate communicator, and social entrepreneur. As the Director of Sustainable Growth and Innovation at Green Growth Group, he leads the T.E.A. Strategy, integrating Tourism, Energy, and Agriculture for sustainable impact. A recent Research Fellow at the Asian Institute of Technology, Saurav focused on calculating the carbon footprint of hyper-local products in Thailand and Nepal. He co-founded StoryCycle, leveraging digital storytelling to amplify local voices and promote ecological awareness. Saurav has also coached changemaker programs like ‘In Our Hands’ and the Youth Cohort on Green Solutions, fostering innovative, nature-based enterprises and climate resilience. Through his work, Saurav bridges sustainability, technology, and community empowerment. He adapted ecologically conscious life to campaign for sustainable lifestyle and Nature Based Solutions, he cycles everywhere, he promotes local production, and 4r’s (Reduce, Recycle, Refuse, Reuse). He has also led many plantation programs to enhance the greenery of different cities. In 2012 he traveled 99 days long trek GHT (Great Himalayan Trail). After coming back he took his interest in impact based storytelling seriously and formulated Storycamps which is a thematic storytelling workshop using digitals tools. In 2014, with Google Earth, he traveled to Everest base camp, with which he accessed various informative contents. Saurav is Coach on Creative Green Economy ( 2023 ) Organic Farming and Permaculture Facilitator ( 2021 ) The Professional Fellow for Governance and Society ( 2018), 2012 winner of the South Asian Climate Change Award (SACCA), “Youth Icon 2012” for walking the 1555 KM long Great Himalayan Trail (GHT) 2011 International British Council Climate Champion and member of the Ashoka Nepal Forum for Young Social Entrepreneurs (AFYSE) – 2007 He believes that the new goal should be to increase the quality of life and focus on natural capital, community -building and economic democracy.
