Ana Pinheira is an ecologist and researcher in the Biodiversity Department at the Landscape Laboratory of Guimarães. Her work focuses on biodiversity conservation through field-based inventory, monitoring, and the analysis of ecological dynamics. In her PhD, she is developing expertise in dynamic species modelling to better understand and predict population and community change. She collaborates on projects addressing the distribution, impacts, and management of invasive alien species, particularly invasive flora. Ana has experience monitoring urban watercourses and supporting the conservation, restoration, and management of aquatic ecosystems. She is also actively involved in science communication and environmental education initiatives.
