Natalie Campbell

Natalie Campbell is a curator, exhibit developer, and part of the DC Public Library Exhibits team. She has consulted on art and exhibits at the DC Public Library since 2016, including the MLK Library’s permanent exhibit Up From the People: Protest and Change in D.C. She has an MA in Modern and Contemporary Art History from Hunter College, and has taught art history and curatorial studies at The Corcoran College of Art and Design and the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her most recent exhibition, D.I.Y. in the District: Celebrating D.C.’s Artist-Run Spaces, featured an overview of 24 artist-run spaces throughout the District from circa 1970 through present day. She has organized exhibitions at venues including the American University Museum (DC), the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design (Asheville, NC), School 33 Art Center (Baltimore, MD), among others. Natalie is deeply committed to collaboration, interdisciplinary thinking, anti-capitalist spaces, community building, and the work that is needed to support cultural work outside of (and in between) the institutions that traditionally present it.
