Nicolas Salmon is an urban planner, engineer, researcher, and co-founder of YES Innovation, a firm based in Quito working on nature-based solutions, climate adaptation, and resilient urban infrastructure across Latin America. With more than 20 years of experience in Europe and Latin America, his work combines international research, urban practice, climate finance, and technological innovation. He has coordinated and contributed to projects funded by Horizon 2020, GIZ, AFD, the World Bank, UNDP, and other international organizations, supporting cities in the planning and implementation of green infrastructure, ecosystem restoration, and climate-resilient urban development. His recent work also focuses on climate finance and the structuring of bankable urban resilience projects for municipalities and development institutions. Alongside urban projects, he co-founded BIOM, a venture developing biomaterials for sustainable construction in Latin America.
