Hernando García Martínez

Hernando García Martínez holds a degree in Biology from Universidad Javeriana and a master’s degree in Ecology from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. He currently serves as Director General of the Humboldt Institute, an entity of Colombia’s National Environmental System (SINA) committed to generating, integrating, and communicating scientific knowledge on Colombian biodiversity. With a career spanning teaching, research, and technical and executive management, since 2019, Hernando has led an integrative vision that brings together scientific, social, and governmental stakeholders to position knowledge about biodiversity as a central pillar of sustainability and wellbeing in Colombia.
